We woke up and even though we have a small coffee pot and complimentary coffee in the room, Noboru ran downstairs to the hotel lobby and picked up 2 hot coffees and 2 freakishly large donuts. These are so big, that 2 are enough for the 4 of us. Absurdly giganto donuts, seriously! At this point, Noboru was really feeling under the weather. And he decided not to swim that day with us. And I knew, it would be hard for me to be in the water with both boys. Watching 2 at the same time, in the water could be a handful. So, we called my dad and asked him to come swim with the boys and I. And give me a hand watching the boys in the water. Even though Noboru was indeed there with us, the entire time, he just didn't go in the water. My dad said, sure and he zipped right over! Thank god my dad retired to Guam from the mainland US. : )

Grandpa and Noah having a blast! By the way, Noah can stick his face in the water and hold his breath for 11 seconds. And he can hold his breath without plugging his nose, with his hand. That's pretty awesome for only being 2 years old, I'd say! : )

Branden doing the backstroke! He swims so well! This was his birthday trip by the way, this was his big present from us this year. We took him away for a 2 night trip, swimming and to see grandpa. Not a bad, pressie, I'd say! I don't want him to concentrate always on the material gifts he got. But concentrate on how our family, always got together for his birthday. We always made it a small, little, family special type thing. Harder for us, since we have oceans separating us granted, but that's why we flew to be closer to my dad and all 3 generations, the kids, me and my dad could spend his birthday together (we celebrated a day or two early, but sometimes you gotta take what you can get, he he). Family is a big deal in our house, it really is. : )

A grandpa and grandson meeting! Ha ha ha. Noboru was sitting on a nice reclining chair and looking on. And the weather? Well it rained in the early morning, but it wasn't raining while we were down there and we spent about 4 hours swimming. The sky was a bit gray, but the weather was awesome, it was hot and the water felt warm and great! : )

Umm, dad, B can swim. He swims quite well actually. Ha ha ha. Yet here is grandpa holding up Branden, so he doesn't drown? Ha ha ha. What a good grandpa! Very thoughtful grandpa indeed! : )

And again being the over protective grandpa, he barely let Noah's feet touch the water. Ha ha ha. Oh well, at least he cares! I was glad my dad came to help us with the boys. They all had fun. I rode the slide about 20 times myself too. One time, as I came near the end of the slide, I saw a Japanese guy and his girlfriend just standing near the end of the slide. I thought, if they don't move, I have no choice but to crash into the guy. I couldn't stop going that fast and they were just stopped at the mouth of the slide, don't they know how dangerous it is to stop at the end of a slide, for crying out loud, he he. What gives?As I accidentally crashed into the guy. I thought, what the heck? I mean seriously? Turns out the guy lost his glasses somewhere in the water. I asked him if he wanted any help to look, he said yes please. I asked him in Japanese. So, the 3 of us looked for them, we did find them.
They went down that slide all afternoon. Boys did they have fun. And the kids keep grandpa young and on his toes! : )

The Hilton has quite a few pools to choose from, plus the giganto hot tub that over looks Tumon Bay and the slide. A very fun place to hang out and stay! : )

By now we were starved and ready for lunch. We hopped into our rental car and were at Micronesia mall within 7 minutes.

After all the swimming, Noah was just crashed! He was so tired. he did manage to eat some lunch though before we let him doze off for a good snooze.Noboru had Taco Bell.
I had a Korean BBQ lunch plate, from my fav place I always go to. So yummy! And Branden has his typical Italian BMT from subway and chips. Noah had chicken and rice from mine and nachos from Noboru. And he zonked out the entire time we were at Micronesia mall.
I got a fanstic eye brow wax, from the place at the mall, I usually go to. And we just strolled around window shopping. Again we didn't really need anything from the mall. However as we passed the Croc shop we usually like, we both saw Crocs with some sorta pattern on it.I ran in while Noboru waited outside the shop. Talk about a shock, they were Spongebob crocs for boys with cool jelly fish on them and Dora crocs for girls. I asked the hubster to go play in the center of the mall with the kids, while I ran in and bought the boys some. We thought they would be cool for B's birthday. Noboru told me to buy them in a size bigger then what they have now, so theye can use them next season. I agreed.
With our sons being huge Spongebob fans. And with our family being big croc fans anyway. These are a match for our sons. One pair for Noah, in a size bigger, then what he wears now. he can use these next spring and summer. And 2 pair for Branden. Because he is the biggest Spongebob fan in our household. And Knowing how fast kids grow and how these will probably be sold out in no time. And if you look at the pic of the store, the store was actually pretty packed with Japanese tourists. Every single one of them walked out with at least 1 pair of the Spongebob crocs, nobody seemed to be buying the Cars or Batman crocs for some reasson. And a fellow American mom was buying a pair that looked about the size I bought for Noah. She also bought the Spongebob ones. All of us, that were standing in line to check out, were holding Spongebob crocs.
And yes they are real crocs! Guam really has a lot of new stuff. I wonder if these will sell out by Christmas. They seemed to be selling like hot cakes.
They had a new shipment of jibbitz as well. The Japanese women (two of them) who own the store, told me they sold out of the Spongebob jibbitz weeks ago. If you have kids and they watch the Nick channel, you'll know these characters, if not, you probably won't know. I think Branden will be so surprised to get his crocs and jobbits for his birthday. And to be fair, Noah got 1 each of whatever jibbitz Branden got. So one Gary for B and 1 Gary the snail for Noah. 1 Dora for B and 1 Dora for Noah and so on. And B already had Sandy and Spongebob, so only Noah got Sandy, since Branden already had that one. Anyway, enough of that, and again we weren't planning to buy anything from Micronesia mall, but since they had something unexpected like this and we knew they'd be perfect for our sons, especially for a birthday gift. We figured we should buy them. No biggie really : )
I ran into Blockbuster alone and the kids snoozed in the car and Noboru waited with them. I ran in and just picked up a few movies. We got the cartoon, Meet the Robinson's for Branden's birthday present. And at the GPO, I walked around with both the boys in the mall, while Noboru ran into the game shop and he picked up a few DS games for Branden's game for his birthday. Just 3 games. He is going to be so surprised when his birthday rolls around. : )
It was raining by the time we got to the GPO, but here is another trolley. I like the red ones, they're cute : )
Even though today was the 24th. And Branden's birthday isn't until October 26th. We decided to take him to a restaurant and have our celebratory birthday dinner at Tony Roma's. We went to the one that is off the hotel road area. We went to the one in the shopping area where the Long John Silver's is. It's quieter there and not crammed with tourists. I had a small cup of potato cheese soup, so good. And we all shared these hot gooey mozzarella sticks.
The kids meals were 100% free, if an adult made a dinner purchase. So since we had 2 adult meals ordered, the 2 kids meals were totally free. Noah had the chicken tenders kids dinner.
Branden had the same. : )
Noboru had the baby back ribs and rice and broccoli.
I had the baby back ribs as well, but I had mine with a corn on the cob, the other corn, Noah took, ha ha ha. And a baked potato with cheese.
We ran into the grocery store that was in the little shopette where the Tony Romas is. We didn't need much. The Rice Krispie bars came from Cost u less. And the 4 cake mixes in a pack came from Cost u less too. But the rest came from the normal grocery store, This stuff is mostly just baking stuff, or whatever. Rice Krispie treats for the kids and myself premade, lol easy and yummy. Cinnamon roll, hot oatmeal cereal for the boys to eat in the mornings, with some toast with butter, if it gets too cold. So good. Blueberry muffin mix, so the kids and I can bake those one afternoon together. Brownie mix. Cake mix, I love baking cakes and cupcakes with the boys. And the cans of pumkin and evaporated milk are for the pumpkin pies that we will be having for Thanksgiving come this Novemebr, yes I am getting prepared for it. I'm almost ready for it, actually! : ) And pumkpin pie spice. And more cupcake papers. That's about it, not much. I like baking in the winter and fall, always makes the house smell nice! And I like the time I get to spend with the boys when we cook together! : )
The mac and cheese came from Cost u less, but the rest came from the regular Payless grocery store. Again not much here. Just a few extra boxes of popcorn to carry us through the winter. Some plain and simple noodle soup, I like to make this on lazy Sunday afternoons with grilled cheese sandwiches for the kids and I. Yup, I sometimes crave US cup of noodle, how weird of me! ha! And 2 jello's. The kids and I can make this together one afternoon as well.
In Parents magazine a few issues back, they suggested to let your child munch of the frosted mini wheats instead of giving candy to the kids. Nice idea, I think. Sometimes I pack a small handful in a ziploc and let my kids munch of them if we are about town someplace. However we actually eat these for breakfast as well, mostly. So we need the big giganto size. Cornuts. Sunflower seeds and pizzelles, I miss eating them and while I happen to think my family makes the best ones, these will do just fine, I guess : ) Again nothing much or too fantastic here guys, sorry.
And finally the stuff that hung out in my hotel fridge and the stuff I really needed the most. But again not too much. 3 packs of ham. 2 packs of honey baked ham, sliced really thin. And 1 pack of brown sugar ham. Makes really nice sandwiches. Cheese, swiss, provolone, and finally the Kraft is for grilled cheese sandwiches. 2 packs of bacon, haven't been to Costco in ages and not planing on it yet, so the bacon buy was a good purchase for us. Flour tortillas for tortilla wraps for B's lunch. Or just simple snackin' around the house. I also bought a single pack of corn tortilas because I am going to try and make enchiladas soon. Not sure how they will turn out. I might bomb out with, making them, but I am going to go and give it the ol' college try! Ha ha ha! We'll see. : ) We went back to our hotel room nice and full, but we still snacked a bit in our room on junk and showered and watched cool American TV shows before dozing off to lala land.: ) Oh and PS, the person who requested those few things from the grocery store. I sent them already! Email me, when you get them please! : )
