Also one of the nights we were there, we went to see the movie Wall E! Oh my gosh this movie is so good! Had so many morals to the story type stuff. Don't trash up the earth (was one of them)! And don't just lay about getting fat, stay active (was the other), so many morals of the story! It was also a cute story about 2 lovely robots. Don't worry I won't spoil the movie for any of you! But the kids enjoyed it and so did the hubby and myself! We had a giant sized popcorn, 4 sodas and some gummy bears and some hot tamales, lol! The movie was very awesome!
Omiyage! Gifts that you are supposed to bring back for teachers and closest friends and neighbors and such. If we would have gotten them for every dear friend it would have been endless. So we stuck to the basics. We bought 2 (four) packs of yummy cookies. In those gorgeous little brown paper sacks. Pineapple coconut cookies and macadamia nut cookies were among the flavors. One for Branden's elementary school teacher. One for Branden's Kumon teacher. 1 for the swimming coach. And that left only 5. 1 went to our neighbor to the left, which is "boy next door's" grandma. And that left a mere 4 for, 4 of Branden's closest friends. Obviously one went to Genki, and Saya-chan, Koiki-kun and I think the last one went to B's friend, Daisuke-kun! Sheesh omiyage is gone in no time flat! : )
This is the majority of the stuff we brought back, but not pictured is the Crocs or other things that would not fit on the table. But this is the main parts at least! Hard to explain what it all is, so I'll as usual bunch them in groups. Again, if you prefer not see what we brought back to Japan with us, no worries at all, skip this post and enjoy the others! : ) I am sure you all bring way better stuff then we bring back anyways. But in any case, I always share in pics what we lug back. The few times I didn't share the pics, a few of you emailed me actually asking...where's the pics. LOL. So in any case, here ya go! : )
Here's some of the baking and dessert goodies we brought back with us! 5 bags of Nestle toll house. You know those are for baking chocolate chip cookies! I figure one batch a month these should last 5 month's. And I plan to lug back 5 more bags from Denver next month as well. 1 box of coconut cake, 1 box of brownies and 1 box of blueberry muffins. I plan to make some cream pies this summer! The smaller boxes you need 2 boxes. So, I will be making 2 coconut cream pies this year and I even got the shredded coconut to toast it and sprinkle it on top! I will also be making a pistachio pudding pie, yummm! And the spare 1 box of pistachio is just for dessert. And 1 chocolate cream pie and the rest of the chocolate is just for plain old pudding cups for dessert! Yumm! I also got another pack of muffin cups. Have tons of these already. And another set of American measuring spoons. I still want to buy more baking goods stuff in Denver, but this Guam trip has now eased what I will have to lug back from Denver, so this trip actually helped a lot. especially with the luggage limits so strictly enforced now.
Microwave popcorn. Just a month's worth, no more. I love the butter lovers and the movie theater flavors! : )
Snacky type things! Variety chips. Yes, I know I coulda got some from Costco, but since I was here and they were cheap, why not. Sunflower seeds, these get so darn addictive once the salt flavor gets set in your lips. ha ha ha. Mac and cheese. Gotta love that neon orange cheese! lol ! : ) And Oreo cakesters these are brand new, omg! These are so good!!!
The kids especially Noah really loves dried mango, and I love that they enjoy getting a nice natural treat! Gum for moi! Just cheap stuff really. No fancy shmancy! And let me tell you....after seeing all the tourists carrying bags of Louis Vuitton or Chanel onto the airplane. I certainly don't feel guilty about the 200 bucks we spent here and there at various groceries stores or Kmart type shops at all. Nor do I begrudge them their shopping either! Ha ha ha. : ) Because everyone has a right to get or buy whatever they want. : )
Texas style chili, oh yummm! Chili con carne. I plan to make this one night sometime this month! I can barely wait! : )
6 bucks a pack for a spoon and a fork. I wish the prices woulda been lower, but I did get the boys 2 sets of Spongebob fork and spoon sets. And a Spiderman set as well. I loved the colors on these and the easy grip handles. : )
Just toiletries! 2 Spiderman toothpastes, stocked up a dot with those and for the boys! 1 kids Motrin/fever reducer. Have some of these at home already, just got one to add to the stock pile though, lol. 3 tubes of toothpaste for Noboru and I. 2 boxes of girly time of the month needs, no big deal. Downy mountain fresh dryer sheets, to add to the dryer sheet stock pile we already have, lol. And the Spray and wash stain stick, this stuff is the best! After trying the Tide sticks and the regular spray and wash, I stand by this. And I got another stick to add to my laundry stuff at home. 1 spongebob toothbrush for Branden, 1 pooh toothbrush for Noah. They are sorted by age. And some adult toothbrushes for Noboru and I.
Could be the heat of Guam and Japan. Darn these sweltering summers, lol! But this Dove fresh scent smells so fresh and fantastic to me! I love it! They also sell this stuff in Japan. Not sure about the shampoo though. But I bought it in Guam. I got the body wash, shampoo and conditioner! I plan to use this all summer long. The scent of that body wash....love it! I also bought this face wash. Again, nothing all to spectacular or anything! : )
More to add to the baking category. Some pecans for all those choco chip cookies I plan to bake this fall. And some Crisco for the pie crusts. And a hand mixer. I just bought the cheapest hand mixer of all of Kmart. I have been mixing all my stuff by hand for all these years. I finally decided to cave and buy a hand mixer! I only needed a cheap one. Granted, if it sucks or perhaps when I am older, I might make it a hobby and buy or collect expensive kitchen appliances but for now, I will take whatever just does the job. Whatever because I certainly don't mind. : ) I also got some more corn cob holders, err, I buy a pack of these every time I am someplace. Yet last time I couldn't find them, lol, remember. I must have 20 cob holders in my kitchen by now, lol, seriously.
Only 4 packs of taco mix, because I will stock up when I get back to Denver. Canned jalapenos for all my guacamole. And some BBQ sauce, Tony Romas original recipe, yummm! : ) Will be great on the ribs we plan to make this summer! : )
Aspirin for us adults. I always have a giant size of Advil, but since I live overseas, I try to keep a nice supplied medicine cabinet of everything and anything. : )
Writing paper for Branden! This summer he and I are writing letters to each other back and forth, I find it helps with his English writing. And the Nerds pen is mine for all my (boring) PTA meetings, lol. I got to write down notes, ya know! : )
A Blockbuster run was inevitable! Ha ha ha! : ) The boys, ended up with 2 DVD's. Enchanted and Alvin and the Chipmunks! Enchanted is funny. However, Alvin and the Chipmunks is totally A++++! The boys have seen it 5 times already! I've seen it twice too. Noboru loved it as well! : ) The Bucket List, 27 dresses, and Definitely Maybe! Just a few DVD's. And this way, we can still bring back more DVD's from Denver. But at least our luggage won't be overweight.
Those of you that know, know my husband lived in America since he was 15 or 16 years old, as an exchange student. He spent over 15 years in the US. And he did this Slip and Slide with his host family. He has been wanting one for ages. Last January when we were in Guam, I was against us getting one (just being a typical worry wart). But he has not stopped talking about this since then. So he finally and quite happily I might add, got his Slip and Slide this time around. This time, he got it! He says he bought it for the boys, but I secretly think he bought it for himself, lol! : )
Speed Racer underwear for B and the brand new DS Speed racer game for B as well! You know the new version of this movie is out or coming out. So, it's the the hottest thing around. And since I have boys, I made sure B got them.
Some t shirts for Noah. Size 3T and 4T. And some bright colored pastel bikini undies for me. Again nothing too fab or anything.

And this stuff is the stuff, even I can't bring back from Denver. Because after a 12 hour flight the stuff would probably not be so good after that. But on the short 3 hour flight to Guam and back, this stuff is actually still cold. What's here? Oscar Mayer all beef hot dogs and the cans of chili are for chili cheese dogs obviously. Pepperoni is for all the pizza making we plan to do this summer. All beef Oscar Meyer bologna for sandwiches. Mozzarella, and Provolone cheese for sandwiches. And string cheese for the kids to munch on during the day. And Velveeta for grilled cheese. Just plenty of lunch type things! : )
Shaved oven roasted turkey breast and shaved honey ham. These make some freaking awesome sandwiches. : )

Since there is no tax on Guam. We could not resist to buy a few Polo's for Branden. Just some bright colorful ones, especially now that he wears regular clothes to school, versus the uniform he used to wear at yochien. And he's 6 years old, but since he turns 7 at the end of Oct, it's smarter for us to start buying things in size 7 already. So, 1 bright pink, 1 bright orange, and 1 bright yellow Polo shirt. And 1 navy blue polo t shirt with little horsey as well. The deals were amazing. Like half of the price we'd pay in Japan. The selection for size3, was nil! That's just the way it goes sometimes, sorry Noah. : ( Ah well. At least B got some shirts knocked out of the way at least.
We bought so many Crocs. They even gave us this nice little shopping bag. LOL.

Noboru got a yellow pair. Branden and Noah got a bright yellow pair as well. And they got the new Baya ones that say....Crocs on the side of the shoe! Noboru wanted the baya in his size but they didn't have them. Oh well. : )

They've been blogged about as well as my bright pink ones. but I wanted the baya black ones that said Crocs on the side. So, I got the black baya ones. And I also got the suede Crocs mary jane type shoe. They have criss crosses and everything. These are so cool and look even cuter on! I have been wearing my criss cross Mary Janes Crocs, with denim rolled up/cuffed capris or skin tight denim bermudas and funky top. With my big over sized sunglasses. And straight sleek bob hair. Hey who says mom's have to be all frumpy?! LOL!
So, 2 pairs of Crocs for me, 2 pairs for Noah, 1 for B and 1 for the hubby. And to be fair, Branden actually has 3 other pairs of Crocs at home. And Noah only had 1. So, they all have the same amount. Actually I think B still has 1 extra then Noah has.

I have been stock piling jibbitz since our last time we were in Guam. Today we finally used them.
Noah's orange ones. He's got Blue's Clue's, Dora and Boots. And a Wall E and Eve one.

Frozen bean and cheese burritos. Great for snack time or for a late night snackin'. And cheese ravioli for 1 nights dinner! : ) Just a quick dinner type night. : )
Grands Cinnabon cinnamon rolls with cream cheese icing, yummm! And home Grands homestyle biscuits and some cheap 79 cent pack of biscuits as well. And 1 extra bottle of BBQ sauce, whoops, I bought 2 and pictured them in 2 seperate pics, sorry.
The hubby loves cheeky shirts with wise cracking sayings! He always has! He bought this one. It cracks me up as well! : )
My cell strap has always been a flip flop. Since 6 years ago it has been a flip flop. I change the flip flop yes, buy new flip flop keitei strap, but it has and probably always will remain a flip flop. I think because I am a causal girl. A more beach type girl then a high heel type girl. So, I bought 2 more keitei flip flop straps, now I know I will have a few extras. Phew! : )
And last of the stuff lugged back pics, are cups. Both boys got a Spiderman 3 plastic cup. Has good Spiderman on one side and the bad Spiderman on the other, lol. And I got myself this cup. Funny when I was a little girl, I had a cup with water or oil, whatever, in the cup with glitter, I recall it was my most favorite cup in the whole wide world! Then it got old and my mom must have thrown it away. : ( Anyway I grew up and they just never sold those cups for adults! I have since bought my own 2 sons those glitter cups from Disneyland and stuff with Mickey in them. But, I always sorta wished I could have a glitter cup of my own. Anyways, I gave up, figured, I am an adult, no glitter cup for me! No big deal! So anyways, as I walking strolling Kmart, in the home furnishing section, I happened upon this adult glitter cup! I grabbed one! Threw it into my cart and I have been using it ever since I got home. I like how every time I take a drink the glitter bounces up and down in the cup. And the little plastic lemon pices boing through in the cup. It makes me sorta secretly really happy and definitely puts a smile on my face daily! Yay! I got myself a glitter cup! Price $7.99, but the smile it puts upon my face? Absolutely freakin' priceless! Rock on my glitter cup! Ha ha ha! Anyway, there you go you guys, like I said, nothing all too fab or too wonderful. But there ya go. That's what we lugged back from Japan. : )
