How we spent our Sunday Funday...

Sunday, February 7th our family went to the Ami premium outlet, because we wanted to get Noah 2 more sweatshirts from the Gap outlet.

Noah got a really pretty orange zip up sweatshirt and a navy blue pull over sweatshirt with bright happy yellow Gap wording/letters. And this Mr. Mustacho tee shirt was hilarious and out of all the tee shirts at Gap, this was the only stack almost sold out. They only had 1 of these in Noah's size. We picked everything you see here in size 150cm. The sweatshirts are a pinch big. However to be fair the 140cm fit him *exactly* as is...meaning not 1 dot of extra room. If it shrunk in the dryer even by 1mm, it would be out grown. If Noah grew 1cm between now and the end of March...which...is possible... if you know kids...yes definitely possible. So...that is why we decided to err on the safe side and get everything in size 150cm. The tee shirt though...the Mister Mustacho one...was freakishly tiny in size 140cm and Noah is as skinny as a twig. Height wise, he's average...but for it... to look skin tight on him and almost like a half shirt...no way! So yep...everything needed to be in size 150cm this trip. Also, Gap was having amazing sales and everything was 50% off. The Mr. Mustacho tee was 50% off plus my online 15% off coupon, it was 800 yen or so, for the mustach tee. And the sweatshirts were super reasonable too. Plus...I went to Pasceos (sp?)...a few weeks back to buy both the boys school socks and underwear...remember? And I did have a look at their sweatshirts at Pasceos. And I was shocked to see....their prices were like 2400 yen for a cheap looking sweatshirt there and they weren't nearly as cute and stylish as the Gap ones. And the quality was horrible...very cheap quality on the sweatshirts for Noah at Pasceos, which is why we didn't buy any...and super paper thin sweatshirts at Pasceos for 2400 yen. No thanks. So, even Noboru said...for that price and quality we better stick with Gap. And I agree. So...that's just why... we prefer shop at Gap for the kids clothes in Japan. If we were in the states, Target and Gap outlet would both be options, but here...Gap outlet considering the cost is not really any different then the prices at Paseos. Yet the quality is *way* higher at Gap. 

After shopping at Gap, we went to get a pretzel each. And we sat in the crowded food court and enjoyed our pretzels. People watching and munching, then we left. 

Noboru wanted to go to a few shops in Narita before we went to dinner. Again...Noboru is a good dad in that... he wants to make sure both the kids have everything they need while he is away. So, he bought Bran 2 extra mechanical pencils, some pencil lead, an eraser, for grading...he bought him a blue pen and 2 red pens. They correct their own school/home work at school. 

Noah has an orange watch from Gap. However he very badly wanted this watch on Sunday. When he goes to play... he uses a watch to know when to come home. : ) And a black pen, because now the 4th graders may use pens in class. At times for projects. Before now... it was pencils only. And it still is 98% of the time, but he got a new one just in case. Bran made sure to tell Noah..."get this brand it's the only brand my friends and I use at JHS, also get the 0.7 width of the pen" Noah was like..."okay, thank you." : ) Aww, he's a very good older brother. Making sure his little brother is doing things right. : ) 

The good thing...the cool thing of living close-ish to Narita is that Narita caters to tourists from all over the world. And they have so many souvenirs available right in Narita. People from all over the world (just said that...now twice, lol)...are in love with all of Japan's special flavor Kit Kats. Many of these are region specific, meaning you have to visit that specific area, part of Japan... to be able to find or buy that specific Kit Kat. While others are not region specific, some are. So they vary. Some are available all Japan wide and some you need to visit that area of Japan. However...with living close-ish to Narita. I can get my hands on any of these special edition Kit Kats, any time I want to. Also, same with Starbucks tumblers. A few years back, people overseas but visiting Japan... were collecting region specific Starbucks coffee tumblers. Then someone said, as they were flying out of Narita airport they realized that Starbucks at the airport in Narita...they had all the regions at Narita airport. And everyone was going...okay who lives closest to Narita airport. And I suddenly got really quiet. @_@ Hahaha. : ) I was just a fly on the wall and not actually commenting on that thread. Just reading/listening to that conversation...so I didn't feel I needed to say it was me. I live near there. But yep...it is true. I have access to lots of the cool things, with living so close to Narita. : )

Anyway after going to a few shops on Sunday...just enjoying a nice family Sunday. We went to dinner. Yakiniku!

Goodness is that a lot of rosu (lean beef) on the boys grill. It's really important to me that the boys always remember these times. The going out to eat as a family. Or making sure everyone had everything they needed. Socks, underwear, dress shirts for JHS or sweatshirts for elementary school. The movie nights at home. The going to an actual movie... every once in a while. Even the regular nightly dinners at home...are super important. You know what I mean...I hope. They need to know...that family is the most important thing, we have in this life. It may sound corny but that's okay. But I want them to know, the important things in life.  In this life...there are no do-overs. : ) So enjoy it with the ones you love. And to just be a good person. : )

Bits from last week, miso chicken, lunch date with the hubster and a few other good bits mixed in there for good measure. Plus, we just won the Super Bowl just now, you guys! The Denver Broncos win Super Bowl 50!

Good morning! 10:07am here and Super Bowl 50 is happening live for us right now! It's Monday morning for us in Japan. But, I know it's always Super Bowl Sunday for those of you in the US. Hope you all, are enjoying the game. I know, I am. I have a quick little post to get up right now and I am doing it on commercials only so how long will this short post take me? We'll see. All of these pics happened last week. Noboru and I did go on our once a week, lunch date while the boys were both at school. We went to Saizeriya. Saizeriya is just a super cheap Italian chain here in Japan. I had the rigatoni and a side of petite foccacia.

570 calories. I am just always extremely conscious of my calories of my breakfasts daily and my lunches. I love those Knorr pasta soups in the cup also, that are like 180 or so calories too. But on this day we went out. And dinner, I don't really count my calories, but it's usually something really sensible. And on weekends we usually will have something fun like maybe... I'll make some cheeseburgers or taco night for the fam. Something fun. Anyways...moving along...

I made miso chicken for dinner last week. I also made an extra chicken breast and sliced it in half width wise...so the boys could take that for lunch the next day. In fact, every chicken breast was sliced in half width wise. Why? So that it could soak up all the flavor all the way. Also not sure if you could tell in this picture, but I also made slices on each piece, not all the way through cuts... but enough so sauce could marinate all the way. Just wanted it to be very flavorful. And by the way...I have *the* best recipe for miso chicken or pork. Tastes better then the ones you can buy at the store that are already pre-sauced/already marinated. Like bomb dot com recipe. 

Put plastic wrap on this that morning and put in the fridge. This soaked in flavor all day long. And the ones the kids had the next day, were even more so. They soaked for almost 24 hours, so really flavorful miso chicken. 

A super simple meal, but we had some... made from scratch miso chicken, rice and veggies we also had a simple salad on the side. Noah was so happy, all through dinner he said..."I made this miso, you guys" Awww...Bran was so kind and said.."it is very good Noah!" He was thrilled. : ) 

This was even more marinated, the next day. On a bed of rice, they took miso chicken some veggies and both had some sliced apple. And yes, Noah mentioned...that he told his teacher..."this was from the miso our class made." Aww, he was just very proud you guys. So yes, even the American mama of the class is finding ways and delicious uses for the miso we got too and now the teacher knows, we are using ours! How much miso is left you guys? A ton. We will be eating miso chicken at the end of this week, as well. Hahaha. : ) I imagine we will be eating it once a week until we use it up. : ) It's very delicious though, so we really don't mind a bit. : ) 

Bran needed 2 extra school dress shirts. The price is perfect. Very affordable. Bought at Sanki. He has 4 new ones total now, in his new size. Again...we're just getting ready and making sure the kids will be okay and won't be running out of anything when Noboru leaves for training. Don't laugh but....preparation is key! It really is. : ) 

The tins are very thin. Like paper thin, way thinner then one you'd buy in America... so we bought 3 of them. Because I will be roasting that turkey after Noboru leaves, and the disposable roasters come in handy. Also bought some Valentine-y napkins for Bran and Noah's lunches Monday-Friday. And also some liners for their lunches as well. 

Last Friday, I made tostadas. We ate meat every day last week. And frankly I was a bit meat-ed out. So I thought last Friday would be a perfect time to make some tostadas. The lettuce was like 98 yen, the cheese is what was leftover. The salsa is from Besia for like 117 yen and the beans cost what...$1 in Guam but beans are also available at Amazon.jp too. So, a pretty cheap dinner and we all loved it, here. The corn tortillas came from Kaldi.

Friday was awesome because we had just gotten Branden's Eiken pre1 results. It was the weekend. We could just relax and unwind and recharge. Dinner was made super early. I boiled the beans Friday morning. Mashed the beans right before I went to get the boys after school. And also fried up the corn tortillas in the day time too, in the morning while the beans were boiling. So dinner was done and in the bag so to speak, by the time the boys came home. We ate. We talked. And just enjoyed. Also a good Big Bang Theory was coming on that night too. Comes on Thursdays in the mainland US. But for me, it comes on Friday evening. I had already read the little blurb online what was going to happen. And I didn't mind the spoiler at all, in fact I saw it more as a positive and it got me excited to watch it myself. So we got dinner dishes and the kitchen cleaned up super quickly and we went and watched the Big Bang Theory on the couch in the living room. Pics and spoilers down below. So, if you haven't seen it. Perhaps stop reading this post right here. But as.... it is my blog and I am sure most of you in the US have already seen it...even before I did. I'm not going to stop talking about it. Just because somebody is more behind, than I am. Besides all this information is already/readily available online and it's not like... I am saying something that isn't already available on the internet already. So...I'm just saying. It's something I greatly enjoyed and therefore I am going to talk about it. 

Sheldon has been speaking highly about his meemaw (grandmother) for years, since the show/series first began. However we have never seen her before. Well last Friday for me, last Thursday for you in the US. Meemaw was going to make her first appearance. This is Sheldon and Leonard waiting at the airport for meemaw! 

Yay, finally we get to see Shelly's meemaw! 

Notice Sheldon gave meemaw his favorite spot on the couch! Given he won't let *anyone* sit there. This was adorable to see! 

Last season Sheldon and his longtime girlfriend Amy broke up (she broke up with him) when Sheldon was about to propose. This season has been eye opening for instance Sheldon finally lost his virginity to her. Anyway...back to last weeks episode...Meemaw hated Amy. And she had certainly no qualms in hiding it. Everyone left the apartment but Amy and Meemaw. They all hid at Penny's. Anyway...Meemaw said... she doesn't like Amy because....when she broke up with Sheldon she broke his heart... so badly and anyone who would hurt him like that. She is not going to support that. Before they went to hide at Penny's, she also told Sheldon, she will never get my wedding ring! They finally had a break through, when Meemaw said her late husband Pop-pop was very similar to Sheldon in that, he was stubborn and set in his ways too. So they sort of bonded and she forgave Amy. Sheldon came in the apartment. So did Penny and Leonard. And everything was all better. But was this a fantastic episode? Yes! Was it so cool to finally see Shelly's meemaw? Yes! : ) This Thursday...well Friday for me. The previews say...The Big Bang Theory will tell the *biggest* secret ever! I keep seeing the commercials for it.... and I can't wait! : ) 

Saturday morning, I made use of the leftover refried beans from scratch. And I rolled and froze 7 bean and cheese burritos. Considering you can buy 6 frozen bean and cheese burritos at Costco in Japan for what...2700 yen? $26 US, super expensive. And I just used whatever was left of our leftover 99cent pack of beans. And I got 7 burritos out of them. I wrapped them up... each in some plastic wrap individually and then put them all in a big freezer bag. That way...if anyone gets hungry after school and dinners not yet ready...although I am usually right on time, if not early dinner wise. Or for a Saturday afternoon lunch or snack. These will be in the freezer, anyone can just take one out and nuke it. They are so good and so cheesy and delicious and homemade. A perfect little snack. And btw, we are loving these new tortillas that Costco sells. So fluffy and good. Soft and the flavor is on point. 

Branden took and passed the Eiken pre1 last Friday. And I had it up and posted the very next day. And while that is good that I do that. And believe me..yes I should. Considering my son has never gone to an American or English speaking school and has always went to Japanese school and so for him to have done that...amazing! So yes, should be totally proud. However...I am also angry with myself because... Noah doesn't get highlighted nearly as much as he should on my blog! I feel a lot of times, I will spotlight Branden's achievements and often...won't Noah's as much. And for that...I am so super sorry Noah! And I will try to do better! Case in point? Noah had that amazing swim meet over a year ago. He was actually asked by the swimming school he swims for... to compete against other swimming schools. This was a Chiba wide swimming event. And Noah swam amazing in it! I did blog and post pics from that day. However the following week when Noah's medals came in for winning the events he swam in. I failed at putting his medals on here or sharing his great...fantastic success. And again for that...I was wrong! And seeing that Eiken pre1 thing on my blog...I kept thinking about Noah's medals that never went up. And I said...no...I can NOT do that! So delayed in posting these pics? Yes. But the important thing is...I put them up! The paper is Noah's award but it has the name of the swim school and his last name etc...so I just flipped that paper over. And Noah won 2 Mizuno (Japanese sports brand) pens with 4 or 5 different colors. These are quite cool and the fact he earned those pens. Just really cool. Two Mizuno file folders, kids in Japan use these quite a bit. The bear thing is a drink holder, almost looks like 1 lone sock, right? But, it goes around a 500ml drink. And the stitch thing is a cup holder. And then Noah's 2 medals. A silver and a bronze. 

Yes, you are a good swimmer Noah! And we are proud of you my gorgeous *gorgeous* boy! Gee, you have so many medals kid! Medals from swimming...medals from running. : ) I am saving these all for you...for when you grow up! : ) 

And finally this morning...for me it started at 8:30am, Guam time 9:30am. Lady Gaga sang the American National Anthem just beautifully! And with a huge American flag behind her. Loved it!

A sincere thank you for your service...

Yay Broncos! Hope you win! But will be proud either way!

As of right now...I have taken ages to write this post..again because I am watching the Superbowl and only typing this on the commercials. The Super Bowl is now almost over. We are in the last quarter...the 4th quarter and we have 6 minutes left. We are winning as of now. But not by much. It was Broncos 16...Panthers 10. This is too close to tell. I may post this after the game. Now...  3 minutes left. Same score, the Panthers just took a time out. And this game is so close. I'm about to have myself a heart attack! Crap! Go Broncos! Now only 2 minutes left. And we are still ahead. I am so full of excitement and anticipation! OMG...we won you guys 24-10 was the score! Amazing and am so proud. The Denver Broncos won Super Bowl 50, just now! : ) 

Just a super short post. Branden passed the first part of the Eiken pre1, we found out yesterday...

Hey ya'll, this is just going to be a super short post for today. I think the title of this post pretty much sums up everything already. Umm, everyone who took the Eiken pre1, knew they could log onto the Eiken website yesterday and find out their results. Just the student and family with passwords, student # etc. Anyway they said the results would be up at 3pm Friday/yesterday. And both the kids got off school yesterday at 3:45pm. But Noboru and I were both here at home and at 2:59pm we went to the Eiken website and we did have to refresh because we were a tad early and right away we saw this! It says he passed. If you see the yellow box and the 2 bold kanji inside, that says Bran passed. It also says in that same area you can see a 1. It says pre1. What does this mean now? Well it means Branden will have to go back and take an interview in English. The interview part... is not really a worry or concern for us. Since he fluently speaks with me every day. So no major worries there, thank goodness. : ) But just wanted to update you all. I know quite a few of you have emailed me or private messaged me, asking..."how did Branny do?" Love you guys for caring and asking. : ) And I did say...as soon as I know, I would let you all know. And so now we know. The hardest hurdle is over. So now it's just the frosting on the cake part next...the interview part. And that shouldn't be a problem at all. We will now wait for the actual passing paperwork they will be sending to our house here in a few days (even though we have already seen the results online and you can see them in this pic...but they will send a real letter to make it legit as proof and Bran can take that paper to his school to inform his teacher). We should be getting that letter soon. : ) Anyway have a fantastic weekend everyone. We are supposed to be expecting snow for our town yet again? But again...it very rarely snows here...so I sorta doubt it. But we'll see... I'm keeping an open mind. We have a ton of food, drinks and snacks here at the house so we're all good here. : ) Stay safe and stay warm. : ) We'll do the same here. : ) 

Throwback Thursday! Setsubun...

Yesterday was Setsubun for us in Japan! So a perfect subject for today's TBT! Here are a few pics for this weeks blast from the past! This pic was from February 2008! Our yochien would have the kids all decorate a mask every year. And all of the kids would cast out the oni at school every year too! Here is Branden and the mask he decorated that year! And by the way, I loved that long sleeved shirt that was half green and half gray. Such a neat shirt and BrannyB loved that shirt that year *so* much! That was hands down his favorite shirt from that year. What a great oni mask you made that year Bran! : ) 

Aww and look who we have here! Noah and the oni mask he decorated and colored. And goodness were those colors, all over the place or what?! But that is absolutely fine, totally age appropriate coloring there. He was just a little fella. Hahaha. : ) This pic is from Setsubun, February 2009!

What's up over here...

Last Friday, Noah came home from school beaming, just beaming you guys! He and the rest of his class had made miso paste a while back, but last Friday each and everyone from their class brought home a container of it. His teacher and he and his class made labels and everything. Noah said so proudly..."it looks like it came from the store mama!" : ) Awww. I told Noah, "oh yes, I see that...it looks *so* professional." I said. "Will you use it", he asked? "Oh of course!!!" How could I not! : ) "Remember when Bran made some with his class?" "Yes", he said as he held on tightly to his miso paste. This package right here. : ) I did black out the name of the school and their class's name for the project this year. : ) I am planning to make miso chicken this week. Tomorrow  actually is when we will be having it. : ) But we will be sure to use up every last dot of this, so I imagine we will be having miso chicken and miso pork quite a bit, until we finish it. : ) It makes the boys so proud, when I use it. : ) 

What oh... what did I do yesterday? Monday. Well, first thing, is I woke up at 5:30am. Had a hot coffee, and read through my emails. Read any online news etc. And then at 5:50am, went upstairs, woke up Bran first, and then Noah. Laid out Noah's outfit. Made sure his gym bagged was packed and contents were packed away. Yes they were, I just always have him pack his bag and books the night before, just to be safe. And I went downstairs. It's 6am-ish now. I go in the kitchen and turn on the radio. Listen to some tunes. And make 2 lunches. Have the lunches packed and sitting in the genkan by 6:30am. The boys come downstairs unload the dishwasher, their chore every morning. And they eat. Cereal and toast. Get them sent to school. And come home. Vacuum the downstairs right away. Looks like it badly needs it. Swish the downstairs toilet. Do 20 minutes on my treadmill. Not jogging but brisk walking. Turn it off and run upstairs, jump in the shower. Wash and condition my hair, wash my body and face. Get out of the shower, put my facial moisturizer on right away and I now have a towel on my head. And I get dressed. Go in the sink area upstairs put some foundation on, concealer, Mac Mineralize powder, some blush and do my eyebrows. Blow dry my hair. Grab my phone and leave. I go to a discount grocery store first, they have cheap drinks and cheap snacks. I then go to Cainz, then to the cheap meat store and the regular grocery store and head home. I do pick up snacks for the boys to have at home because duh...there's kids here. And they come home sometimes from school, super hungry sometimes not hungry at all. And if they should want a snack, I like to have one. Rice crackers. Some cola gummies and some cookies. 

These are probably my favorite cookie in Japan. Cookie on one side and chocolate on the other. However it's not just some random cookie or some random chocolate that make these so good. The flavor of this cookie is so good. Such a high quality cookie, like a *very* good cookie. and the chocolate is the most creamiest and smooth...high quality chocolate. These are just so good. And definitely worth a try. These are really good though. : )

Last week, when I was at Costco in Inzai/Chiba New Town, while I was shopping at Cainz. I went to get a can or two of that super cheap salsa, pictured here. And was totally surprised that Cainz in Inzai no longer carries it at all. Why??? I am not sure but, gee whiz, this was like 117 yen like about $1 US. So cheap and very good. This worried me a lot because I wondered, did they pull it at the other Cainz stores? So, I did run immediately to Cainz after the discount store, yesterday to check. They still carry it. And to be safe...I bought 7 of them. Hope they don't pull this product. After this, I zipped myself to the cheap meat store. 

I bought a lot of meat. A lot of meat. Chicken for miso chicken. : ) And wings for wing night. Pork, beef. A weeks worth and then went to the regular grocery store. I bought myself 2 days worth of breakfast stuff for me, pictured here and 2 days of lunch stuff for myself as well. The expiration date on the pizza is Feb 5th or 6th and since it was barely Feb 1st. I thought that's a definite buy. Also bought some pineapple because I like to eat fresh fruit.

Salad for 2 nights of dinners. The baby mixed leaf was marked down. Again didn't expire, but was close to the date and was fine with me. : ) We had half of it last night with supper and will finish it with tonight's dinner as well. : )

The kids get a packed filling lunch by me daily for school. But breakfasts as I have stated on my blog for years, week-day breakfasts have to be quick and fast. There are Reese's Peanut Butter cup cereal, Jif peanut butter cereal, here to offer as well as Pop Tarts. But, I also buy snack breads and yogurts. That way it just leaves more options available for the kids in the morning.

Drinks for the kids. This is 650 yen or so for the case and it's tea with no sugar. Mugicha.

Cider was 100 yen and the Fantas were 118 yen. That's why it's called the cheap drink store by our family. Hahaha. : )  And we don't drink sodas every single night...but hey it's not torture-ville here either... but again we will have soda with dinner 3 nights the next week.  

Frozen veggies, ginger and garlic is for the miso chicken, I am making tomorrow. : ) Cheese is for grilled cheese for lunch and sauces, we always use the sauces. I came home yesterday after running all my errands and I had lunch at home. And got dinner prep underway right away. Rice made and set. And the meal prepped up and then swung around and picked up Noah after school. Bran rode his bike home with his friends from JHS yesterday. 

This morning, as soon as the boys went to school. I bleached the green counter down. And put the lunch dishes from this morning, that I just made and packed up...but the pans and whatnot...went into the dishwasher, right away. And then I vacuumed the downstairs. Just vacuumed yesterday but in 24 hours time... it was crazy all over again so I needed to vacuum the downstairs. And this bleach right here. First thing I did wash, I bleached the downstairs toilet. Threw the toilet mat into the quick wash and then hung it outside this morning on my laundry poles. I scrubbed and scoured the downstairs toilet this morning. After it was bleached, I then Mighty Duck-ed the toilet after that. I then vacuumed the stairs. 

Door handles. Thank goodness for those Kirkland antibacterial wipes. I wipe our handles in our house, once a week. Many kids at Bran's JHS have influenza right now. And he told me yesterday they said if 8 more kids come down with the flu, the entire JHS will be canceled. @_@ My kids get the flu shot early every year. So, I feel semi safe, but again it's not 100% and just to be safe...especially in winter, I like to wipe all our handles down. 

Vacuuming the stairs this morning. The house is looking all in order. Tomorrow, I will hit the upstairs. And also marinate the miso chicken early tomorrow morning. 

Oh and this is sort of funny. You know the town knows your... general schedule when they bring you the kodomo kai (kids club) booklet to my car while waiting at the plaza for the boys to get out of school last Friday. : )  Hahaha. It was my good friend, who lives a 1 minute walk from my house, she has a boy and girl twin who are Noah's age and in Noah's class. We always see each other Monday-Friday at the plaza as we pick up our kids. I do not wear makeup every single day. I do wear some... if I am running to a shop or store because I want to be presentable and don't want to look all busted and tired and haggard looking. But honestly...when I am just home...like today, I am not wearing a stitch of makeup. So...I was just happy that last Friday, I did have eyebrow mascara and some Neutrogena foundation on at least. That way I looked semi presentable. I was in my car, reading online news via my phone. And she knocked on my window and I rolled it down. And she was like...hey!" And I was like "hey"  so we chit chatted a few minutes and that was that. : )

In other news. Bad, worrisome, troubling news. My dad's computer has not made it to Guam yet. I am tracking that sucker and have been. It should have arrived between Jan25-28th. As you can tell it is now Feb 2nd and umm, no computer. The seller, a reputable 100% seller shipped it out, in good faith immediately. Like as fast as lightning. I see they paid for insurance for the computer etc. And I am sure he is tracking it, as am I. #1 this is bad because my dad needs his computer. However his brain dead computer is still hanging on by a thread. #2 this is also bad because Noboru is leaving for training soon. He will be gone a considerable amount of time. And while things like bills etc are not a worry because we have everything set up on auto payment. However there are still many things we have to get ready and prepare for, here at our house. So, we *really* need my dad's computer to arrive and so Noboru can get to Guam and set my dad up. So this is like a very big concern for us all right now. Where is my dad's computer? That's sort of the million dollar question right now. : ) And we are waiting. So waiting... with great anticipation would be a huge understatement.

What songs have I been listening to lately? Drop in the Ocean by Omi, it has a very nice island vibe. Twenty One Pilots, Stressed Out (this is Bran's favorite song as of right now) Dear Future Husband by Meghan Trainor is so catchy and we have been listening to that as well. Macklemore Downtown is a great song and the video is funny.

What have I been watching on TV lately? I watched the new TV show called Lucifer. I read online how bad it was. How you shouldn't even watch it. They had been airing the commercials for it and so, I decided to make up my own mind. I watched the first episode. And I liked it. Have also been watching Teen Mom OG. I had read online that Nicki Minaj had tweeted how she thinks Farrah from Teen Mom is a *itch to her mother. I didn't think too much about it. And then that night I caught the episode she was referencing to. All, I can say is OMG! Nicki Minaj was so right. Farrah is so verbally abusive to her mother it seriously makes me sick. Seriously, if you can find the blurb on YouTube anywhere... definitely watch it. Farrah had asked her mom to watch her daughter for 1 month. Her mother is a great fantastic grandma and she said, of course! However, Farrah being Farrah started pulling a power trip. And then it all boiled down to. She asked her dad (her parents are divorced) to watch her daughter for the month instead and then she told her mom in this crazy rant at the table...how you need to respect my rules. And respect me and do what I say. And there is the grandma saying while crying..."I do respect you Farrah" and Farrah is not backing down. However the grandma doesn't want to fight at all. And she is going off on the grandma. and the grandma is in tears crying at the dinner table. It's just verbal abuse. And I always feel so sorry for Farrah's mom. Why is Farrah so mean? I think it is so clear to any of us watching Teen Mom OG how Farrah treats her mom like dog crap. And it's just so sad. She does not deserve that. 

Tomorrow Bran has a big test, he has been studying his brains out for weeks for it. And guess what? I have just been emailed from the JHS, just this second. That due to influenza, the test is being canceled for tomorrow, so postponed basically and will be in March instead, this is only for both 8th grade classes. The other grades at JHS still have theirs tomorrow. @_@  In a way it's good news because it gives you more time to study. But in a way...with it being so delayed...also it could be a chance to forget stuff too. @_@
