11 pounds of mikan...

Saturday, November 11th. My doorbell rang. I was finishing with my packing because the kids and I were flying off to Guam the following day. As I was walking to the door, I thought. Hmm, what could it be? I didn't order anything. And I wasn't expecting any package, that I know of. Hmm. Anyway, I opened the door and the mailman greeted me. And I him. And he passed me this huge heavy box of fresh mikan. Fresh fruit is always such a wonderful gift to receive!

Addressed to me. From my mother in law, Noboru's mom.

5 kg is 11 pounds for us Americans. 11 pounds of fresh super sweet mikan. So awesome!

An enormous amount. We still have over half the box left. I did call my MIL right away. But, I got the answering machine. I left her a message though. I said...thank you for the very thoughtful and wonderful gift. I did mention that Branden and Noah and I were flying to Guam for a few days and wouldn't be returning until such and such day. And the day after I arrived back in Japan. She called me and I talked to her and told her how much we have been enjoying our mikan. She was very happy to hear that. : ) With Thanksgiving coming up this week. It just makes me smile and happy. That with a good family on both sides...there is always reason to be thankful. : )
